PAGE 2 has just wrapped up this past weekend, and it was a blast! It was an amazing experience with all the gaming, vendors, artists and incredible event organizers, staff and volunteers. Everyone was kind and courteous, access to special guests was fantastic and they stuck around to talk, sign books, and take pictures with the gaming masses that descended upon the expo center.

Anna B. Meyer attended PAGE 2, she ran a game in her developing MeyerHawk rules, and was on a panel. You can find her material here: https://www.annabmeyer.com/

Alex Kammer ran his Mutant Year Zero/Aliens mashup game on Friday. Alex told us we were the only group to have ever survived his scenario! If you get the chance, here is the information for Alex Kammer’s convention: https://www.gameholecon.com/

Saturday morning started off strong with Slyflourish’s Shadowdark Game “Lost Citadel of the Scarlet Minotaur”. Mike ran an awesome game and it was my first time ever playing Shadowdark. Hats off to Mike for making it very simple to understand and play, and thanks for Kelsi Dione in designing such a great game. Check out Slyflourish’s website: https://slyflourish.com/
After the game I had a seminar with Ben Milton and Justin Alexander on “Secrets and Advice of Good Game Design”. Troll Lord Games and Jay “LordGosumba” Scott had a panel talking about Jay’s 45 year game and his world within the World of Greyhawk called Altimira. Jay is working on writing it up and then when the writing is finished, it will then go to kickstarter and backerkit.

To finish off my seminars for Saturday, Troll Lord Games had a 25 years of TLG seminar. Very informative seminar and lots of great experiences and advice. You can check them out here: https://trolllord.com/
Afterwards I wandered around the vendor area and visited Thunderstruck Workshop – https://www.etsy.com/shop/ThunderstruckWkshop who had an incredible setup showcasing pre-painted miniatures and terrain. Very reasonably priced and a beautiful display. I also visited Chet Minton’s artist nook displaying his awesome coloring books, art, prints, stickers, magnets, and various other merchandise. Sunday morning had a change of schedule for me. Kelsi Dione became sick and could not run her game. Fortunately for us, Baron de Ropp stepped up and ran a fantastic game for us in the morning. His game was incredible. He kept everyone engaged and participating, the pace was just right, made it exciting and extremely fun. If you want to check out Shadowdark, you can get more information here: https://www.thearcanelibrary.com/

To wrap up PAGE 2, I attended the “Marketing Your Tabletop RPG Product” hosted by Mike Shea “Slyfourish”, Stephen Glicker from Roll for Combat, Professor Dungeonmaster from Dungeon Craft, and Baron de Ropp from Dungeon Masterpiece. This seminar was fabulous. Incredible information was shared with the crowd covering the marketing of your RPG, market bubbles, market funnels, how to set them up, what to look for, Patreon, the importance of newsletters, advertising, and growing your brand. They even shared some books to read to increase your knowledge about marketing. I was thoroughly impressed with the seminar and the hosts.

PAGE 2 was an incredible experience for me. I went with a few goals in mind. As the experts about ENNIE nomination process and other awards to give the Lakofka Archive the best chance to possibly get Len Lakofka a nomination posthumously. Second was to increase in my knowledge on how to grow my brand and be better at creating RPG’s for the gaming community. My interactions with special guests and the information provided to me did not disappoint. I am so happy that PAGE was very successful and consider it my local convention. Here is looking forward to PAGE 3 in 2026.
