No plan survives first contact with the enemy, or in this case publishing. There have been a few obstacles that have blocked the road for a couple of projects. We are working through them slow and steady. I feel that I am starting to sound like a broken record but work continues on Curse on a Coastal Town the Shadowdark adventure anthology (just finishing up maps) and Something Wicked for Ravenloft (about to go to layout).

A black and white illustration depicting a fierce battle between two armored warriors and a large bear in a snow-covered forest. One warrior is poised to attack with a spear, while another appears to be leaping from a tree branch above. The scene conveys tension and movement amidst trees and fallen logs.

Last week I posted an sketch version of this art and got called out by the artist Joey Docil. All in good fun though, if you need an artist you should check him out, he does amazing work. This and other art is for The Owlbearer’s Brood adventure which is in the works.

There are a few other things that are underway because, you know, I like to manage and work on 7 or so projects at one time …… Here is a glimpse of a series of products that are coming soonish(TM) for use with the Shadowdark RPG System from Cannibaal Publishing.

Text list titled 'EXPEDITIONS' featuring six adventure locations: Tides of Dread, Sanctuary of the Lizard, The Waterfall Cave, Tomb of the Umbral King, The Sand Wastes of Maraj, and Ziggurat of the Drowned Sun.

Expeditions is a series of complete, ready-to-run adventure packs designed for weekly fantasy roleplaying. Each pack begins with a full-length introductory adventure and continues through four or five focused weekly sessions, providing approximately five to six weeks of connected play.

Every Expedition Pack follows a single location, threat, or developing storyline. The opening adventure introduces the characters to the central conflict, while the adventures that follow lead them deeper into danger. Forgotten ruins must be explored, sinister plans uncovered, allies protected, and deadly enemies confronted before the final Expedition brings the story to its conclusion.

Individual sessions are designed to be completed in approximately two hours, making them suitable for game stores, clubs, conventions, organized play, and home campaigns. Each adventure includes a clear objective, exploration challenges, dangerous encounters, meaningful treasure, and a direct connection to the next chapter.

Run the complete pack as a short campaign, insert individual Expeditions into an existing game, or gather a changing company of adventurers for weekly journeys into the unknown. You can add to them as you need if you like and want to flex your creative muscles.

Light the torches. Gather your companions. The Expedition begins.

Five to Six Weeks. One Complete Adventure. Countless Ways to Die.

I understand that it is only September but there are some events that I want to inform you of for October. First off, Oct 2-4 is the Pittsburgh Gaming Expo being held at the Monroeville Convention Center. I went last year and it was a great time. Got to see many special guests, attend panels and play in a Vast Grimm game ran by Brian Colin and a D&D 5e game ran by Ted of Nerd Immersion. I will be going again this year and I have submitted a game to run for the convention.

Some of our games are already sold out but more are in que and just waiting to be approved. We have Kurt Venetis, Alana Tedmon and Tim Hahn who will be running games in our area along with myself and possibly a couple of others. I will be hosting a Self Publishing seminar this year with special guests, Sly Flourish (Mike Shea), Baron De Ropp (Dungeon Masterpiece), and more. This will be the first year that I will be running a kids game called Lagoon League Racing. It is a version of Leviathan League Racing but for kids. They will have plushies to use as their game pieces, 2×2 ft floor squares will represent the track with hazards and roll a large plushie die to move. Fun for all is the goal. I may try to find a place to set it up before hand to take pictures of it.
