October has arrived and with it all kinds of conventions and events to attend for Cannibaal Publishing. Wow, this month has been a runaway bullet train, on fire, with nitrous and a tail wind I tell ya. Starting off the month I was able to attend and run a game at Pittsburgh Gaming Expo held in Monroeville Convention Center on the 2-4th of this month.

A fantastic event yet again filled with games and gaming for everyone. Video games galore with everything from nostalgic pinball and arcade games that take you back to the Aladin’s Castle days when I was kid putting up my quarters on the machine for next to console game section set up showcasing all the consoles out and the latest and greatest machines to hit the market. Here are some incredible pictures of this area.

The vendor hall provided a mixture of retro gaming, fantastic food offerings and even tattoo artists alley if you wanted to get some ink done. A fully loaded game library was provided again this year and I was surprised that a Titan from Avalon Hill was sitting on the shelving calling my name. I was talking with Brian Shutter about this game earlier in the day.

I scored that dinobot Slag (who is my favorite because he is a triceratops) a gen 1 transformer. I picked up some dice with mini polar bear cubs in them for a friend who is all about the polar bear life (Ashur the Bear), and some Lego figures for a few other friends (Pat and Kurt). I got caught up in the nostalgia some and started hunting for a Nobunaga’s Ambition game for the NES as I played the hell out of it as a kid and loved the strategy in it. As I checked out the last vendor, sure enough they had it! Then I got a NES console to play it on.

I was able to play in Professor Dungeon Master’s Deathbringer live play game where he took people out the crowd to bring up and put through the meat grinder of the Fungus Licking Cannibal Cult, no relation.

I got to meet a slew of people there, Stephen Glicker of Roll for Combat, Baron De Ropp of Dungeon Masterpiece on YouTube and Green Dragonfest, Bob World Builder and Grace World Destroyer, Deficient Master of YouTube, and Brian Shutter creator of Neon Lords of the Toxic Wasteland and other fabulous games. Speaking of Brian, he has this new game on Kickstarter out right now with 16 days left to back. Check it out here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/neonlordsrpg/orb-tyrants

Lastly at PGX on Sunday I was scheduled to run a game. I decided to run my Tides of Dread game there for the Shadowdark RPG System.

All in all PGX is an amazing time and fun to be had by all. I highly recommend going if you can. There is great lodging close by and it is not expensive to go to this convention. The panels, cosplay contests, band/live music, and gaming and meeting special guests are well worth the price of admission.
Next on the calendar was the Grand Opening of Miniature Realms & Adventures, by owner Ade Sanya. The store is located in Lancaster, PA in the Shops at Rockvale area behind the Cracker Barrel. This place is amazing. I have been following Ade on Facebook as he posted pictures building this store and everything within. Ade is a master craftsman and I swear he build anything.

Professor DM was running Deathbringer at the Grand Opening as well, slaughtering the masses and having fun.

Ade is planning on having an after school adventure program to teach kids how to play games. Games are extremely important and have many benefits like learning how to calculate math rocks (dice), leadership, tactical and critical thinking, problem solving, expression and working as a team just to name a few. Ade gets that and is a huge proponent and understands the importance of gaming and giving kids that opportunity to learn and have fun.

Another event this month will be the Fable & Folklore Bazaar on the 24th of October being held at 2nd & Charles book store in York, PA. I was invited to attend and bring my wares to support this event, promote the business and meet new people along the way. I want to thank Andrew Pritchard “Pritch” for the invitation and can’t wait to catch up with him while there.

Now on to Cannibaal Publishing and what have we been up to. Well, Halloween is right around the corner for all you ghosts and goblins and so is the new adventure for Ravenloft called Something Wicked! Check out this video created by Lee Shaidle.

The regular PDF will be available on DMsGuild here soon but will be replaced by an “Enhanced” PDF. This PDF will have mouseover embedded links for stat blocks, descriptions of abilities and more. A first of its kind for DMsGuild and we at Cannibaal Publishing believe that you should have it. Print on Demand POD will be coming soon as well and be available on DMsGuild. Happy Halloween all.
Work continues on Curse on a Coastal Town, just waiting on cartography to be completed and then it will go to layout. This module, which is comprised of 10 adventures around a central theme has a metric buttwhack of maps for it so I apologize for how long this has been taking. I think everyone is going to love this adventure for the Shadowdark RPG sytem.

Coming Soon-ish ……
Next month there will be a huge announcement for all you World of Greyhawk fans, so please stand by for that newsletter. I will drop a piece of amazing art from Joey Docil to give you hint of what is to come.

Tune in next month to get the full story and info dump. Love you all very much and you have the opportunity to get out there, roll some dice with friends and have fun.
Very Respectfully,
Troy
